Critical summit at the Ministry of Interior following the framework law
Following the regulation passed by Parliament, governors, police chiefs, and gendarmerie commanders will meet tomorrow in a video conference.
Following the "Draft Law on Strengthening National Solidarity and Social Integration," prepared for the second opening process and accepted by the General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), which is known in the public eye as the "framework law," a large-scale meeting will be held at the Ministry of Interior.
According to the statement made by the Ministry of Interior, the meeting will be held tomorrow at 15:00 via the Video Conference System (VKS). In addition to TBMM Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş, the governors of 81 provinces, provincial police chiefs, and provincial gendarmerie commanders will attend the meeting.
It was stated that Minister of Interior Mustafa Çiftçi has summoned the civil administrators and law enforcement officials to the meeting "urgently" in order to clarify the roadmap regarding the implementation process of the law.
At the meeting, it is expected that topics such as how the process will be monitored in the provinces, how inter-institutional coordination will be ensured, and how the public will be informed will be discussed. It was stated that governors will serve as the highest-ranking civil administrators responsible for the coordination of the process in their respective provinces.
Evaluating the situation before the summit, Minister Çiftçi said, "Everyone will do their part to ensure the process does not fail."
It was reported that the meeting's agenda will also include measures to be taken against potential provocations and disinformation activities. It was noted that police units in city centers and gendarmerie units in rural areas will play an active role in field operations to maintain public order and security.
