Cyber espionage operation... Access blocked to 24 internet addresses

Two people were detained in a cyber espionage operation conducted by the MIT and the Gendarmerie General Command in Istanbul and Adana. The investigation was expanded following the seizure of digital materials and the acquisition of critical information. As part of the operation, access to 24 websites was blocked.

The National Intelligence Organization (MİT) and the Gendarmerie General Command took a significant step against cyber espionage activities with a simultaneous operation conducted in Istanbul and Adana. Within the framework of the investigation carried out by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 2 suspects determined to be linked to a cybercrime network were detained.

DETAINED SUSPECTS ARRESTED

It was learned that the suspects detained after the operation fully confessed to their crimes in their statements and provided critical information about the individuals and groups whose personal data they had accessed illegally. The suspects were referred to the courthouse following their interrogations. The court arrested the 2 suspects under the 'Cybersecurity Law No. 7545'.

SEIZED DIGITAL MATERIALS AND FOREIGN CONNECTIONS

During the searches conducted as part of the operation, numerous digital materials related to illegal cyber activities and systems with foreign connections were seized. The findings obtained in the investigation regarding the suspects provided important clues regarding cybercrime networks.
