Denial of statements attributed to President Erdoğan

In a post shared on the social media account of the Center for Combating Disinformation, it was stated, "The expressions shared on some social media platforms and attributed to our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, such as 'If there is an attack on Iran or Lebanon, we will consider it an attack on Turkey,' are completely baseless.

Under the leadership of our President, the Republic of Turkey has been the voice of common sense in the recent tensions and conflicts experienced in our region, as it has always been; it has displayed an approach that is followed with appreciation by the whole world with its constructive stance advocating for peace, prosperity, and security.

The purpose of these baseless claims is to overshadow Turkey's leading role in building regional peace, to drag our country into environments of conflict and crisis, and to engage in political manipulation through disinformation by creating a false perception in the international public opinion.

It is of great importance not to give credence to such manipulative posts, black propaganda activities, and psychological warfare tactics that are spread from a specific source in a deliberate and organized manner; and to only take into account statements made through official channels. Our fight against all kinds of perception operations carried out with unreal claims will continue with determination."
