Emre Kongar falls ill during live broadcast
Prof. Dr. Emre Kongar, who recently underwent an angioplasty, announced that he fell ill during a live broadcast upon hearing the news that Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ had been detained. Kongar stated, "I hope no one noticed anything! I am doing quite well now."
During his angioplasty, a new stent was placed in Emre Kongar's main artery leading from the heart due to an 80 percent blockage.

Kongar fell ill on the program '18 Dakika' after Merdan Yanardağ reported the news that Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ had been detained. Emre Kongar made a statement regarding his health, saying the following:
"A new stent had been placed because there was an 80% blockage in the main artery leading from my heart. During the live broadcast, when Merdan Yanardağ suddenly reported the news that Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ had been detained, I felt ill due to the stress. But I managed the situation.
