Erdoğan: No issues with the first four articles
AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan made notable remarks regarding the New Constitution debates following the Cabinet meeting. Following his speech, Erdoğan also shared a similar post on his social media account to underscore the importance of the issue.
Stating that they have no issues with the first four articles of the Constitution, Erdoğan used the following expressions on his social media account:
I would like to reiterate that, as we have previously announced to the public many times, our Party and the People's Alliance have no issues regarding the first four articles of the Constitution, and that the debates held over the first four articles do not contribute to the process.
We can see more clearly with each passing day that our current constitution, which was imposed on the nation by the rifle butts of the September 12 regime, is too tight for Turkey and its democracy despite all the revisions made, and that it is far from meeting Turkey's needs.
We expect everyone to realize that our goal of advanced democracy cannot be reached by being a prisoner of prejudices, and we sincerely hope that all political parties will respond constructively to our call for a new constitution.
Anayasanın ilk dört maddesiyle ilgili, daha önce defalarca kamuoyuna açıkladığımız üzere, Partimizin ve Cumhur İttifakı’nın herhangi bir sorununun olmadığını, ilk dört madde üzerinden yapılan tartışmaların da sürece katkı sağlamadığını tekraren ifade etmek istiyorum.…
