It is alleged that Erdoğan reproached Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Uraloğlu regarding the Instagram access ban, which has faced harsh criticism from many segments of society.

According to a report by Ragıp Soylu of Middle East Eye (MEE), citing two sources in Ankara, a dispute took place between Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu and AKP President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during Monday's Cabinet meeting over the Instagram ban.

"NOW THAT WE HAVE STARTED THIS CHAOS..."

It was stated that Erdoğan told Uraloğlu, who brought up the Instagram ban, "You have put us in a big mess."

Erdoğan also added in his remarks, "Now that we have started all this chaos, it would be better to achieve some concrete results before lifting the ban."

A second source suggested that Erdoğan was not angry with the minister, but was actually being humorous.

PROPOSAL TO 'BAN ALL PLATFORMS'

It was also claimed that a minister at the meeting suggested that all social media platforms should be banned until they comply with the laws.

The report stated that Meta and Ankara are in regular contact to resolve the issue and that Meta has already taken some positive steps.

A Meta spokesperson told MEE that millions of people in Turkey are being deprived of their usual ways of connecting with their families and friends, and that businesses are struggling to reach their customers in the same way.

The spokesperson said, "We will continue to do everything we can to restore our services."
