Fatih Süleyman Denizolgun issues statement on Ümraniye operation: Community base is not the target

Fatih Süleyman Denizolgun, the grandson of Süleyman Hilmi Tunahan—the founder of the structure known as the Süleymancılar—and a 27th Term AKP MP, made a statement on his social media account following the operation conducted in Ümraniye.

Denizolgun stated that he has been criticizing the management of the structure and the cadre led by Alihan Kuriş in his posts for a long time, and argued that there is no post he has deleted or admitted to being incorrect to date.

In his statement, Denizolgun claimed that the operation did not target the community base or the courses, using the expression, "Since the nature of the crime is a criminal organization for profit, the target here is not our community base or our courses."

While directing various accusations at the upper management of the structure, Denizolgun stated that he has tried to tell the truth even if it is against his relatives. He also addressed the members of the sect, saying, "Do not be involved in secret or open betrayal."

"CLAIMS ARE BASELESS AND INTENTIONAL"

The former MP also denied allegations that he tried to seize the Ümraniye Central Course on Friday and wanted to force Friday prayers to be held, which allegedly led to the intervention of riot police teams.

Describing these allegations as "baseless and intentional," Denizolgun said that on the day the incident was claimed to have taken place, he was in Ankara with his father, Mehmet Beyazıt Denizolgun, to attend the AKP's 25th anniversary program.

Following the operation, the leadership and management disputes that have reportedly been ongoing for a long time between the Alihan Kuriş administration and the Denizolgun family within the Süleymancılar have come to the agenda once again.
