Government has determined the minimum wage: Millions have their eyes on the upcoming raise rate...
TÜRK-İŞ has announced its minimum wage demand of 29 thousand 583 TL. Meanwhile, Social Security Institution (SGK) expert Özgür Erdursun claimed that the government has already determined the raise rate and that the announcement will be made next week.
TÜRK-İŞ has announced its minimum wage demand, which millions of workers have been waiting for, as 29 thousand 583 TL.
Social Security Expert Özgür Erdursun, who had previously estimated the 2025 minimum wage to be in the range of 22-23 thousand TL, argued that the government has already determined the raise rate and that this figure will be announced next week.
GAVE A DATE
The announcement of the official demand by TÜRK-İŞ, which represents the labor side in the Minimum Wage Determination Commission, has excited millions of low-income earners living on minimum wage.
However, Social Security Expert Özgür Erdursun stated that this process is merely a formality.
In a statement made on social media, Erdursun used the following expressions: "The minimum wage determination commission has met three times, but there is neither a raise rate nor a clear figure on the table. The government has already determined the minimum wage. The raise rate will be announced next week. In this process, the opinions of the labor or employer sides were not taken into account."
TÜRK-İŞ HAD DEMANDED 29 THOUSAND 583 TL
TÜRK-İŞ, which had avoided announcing a clear figure until yesterday, announced in the last meeting that it was requesting 29 thousand 583 TL for the minimum wage, demanding an increase of 74 percent. Erdursun evaluated this announcement as a move made following public backlash.
Erdursun said, "TÜRK-İŞ avoided announcing a figure in the first two meetings. However, following the reactions from the public, it announced that it wanted 29 thousand 583 TL with a 74 percent raise demand."
MET THREE TIMES WITH NO RESULT
The minimum wage determination commission, consisting of employers, unions, and the government, has met 3 times previously. However, it was stated that the figure was not discussed in these 3 meetings.
