In Gaziantep, two 16-year-old children were subjected to a knife attack following a verbal dispute with peers they encountered on the street. The argument, which began with the question "Why are you looking at me?", quickly escalated into violence. The attackers drew knives they were carrying and assaulted the two friends.

Following the incident, the attackers fled the scene, while health and police teams were dispatched to the area upon reports from bystanders. The two seriously injured children were taken to the hospital by ambulance.

ATTACKERS DETAINED, BUT RELEASED

According to the report by Sena Kiper Sıtacı from NTV, police teams quickly apprehended and detained the attackers who had fled the scene. The 3 detained children confessed to their crimes during questioning. However, they were released under judicial control by order of the prosecutor's office.

Following the decision, the families of the injured children expressed great outrage in front of the courthouse and around the hospital.

“MINGUZZI” REACTION FROM FAMILIES

The families of the injured children reacted to the judicial process by recalling 16-year-old Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi, who was killed in Istanbul. Asking, "Must our child also die like Ahmet Minguzzi?", the families described the release of the attackers as a blow to justice. The families stated that their children remain in critical condition and demanded that those responsible be arrested.

In the incident that took place in Kadıköy, Istanbul, on January 24, 16-year-old Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi, who had gone to the market with his friends to buy skateboard equipment, had gotten into an argument with peers named B.B. and U.B. After the argument, Minguzzi was stabbed by B.B., and while he was on the ground, he was kicked by U.B.

The seriously injured teenager was taken to the hospital but lost his battle for life in intensive care and passed away on February 9. The two attackers detained after the incident were arrested.
