Hatay was the province most affected by the earthquake disaster that deeply shook Turkey. Former national football player Gökhan Zan, a native of Hatay, drew attention with his struggle to make the voices of earthquake survivors heard following the earthquake, in which thousands of deaths occurred due to negligence.
Gökhan Zan answered 12punto's questions regarding his name being mentioned in recent days in connection with the Hatay Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidacy.
"I WOULD BE HONORED FOR THE PEOPLE"
Stating that he would absolutely not have a personal opinion or discourse regarding the CHP's current mayoral candidate Lütfü Savaş, Zan responded to 12punto's question, "If an offer were to come from the CHP, would you want to be the candidate for Hatay Metropolitan Mayor?" as follows:
"If the people want it, and if it is believed that I am the right person, I would be honored and privileged. I would put my body on the line for the people. Whatever I do, I will do it for the people, not for parties," he said.
