In the accident that occurred when a tour bus collided with a truck in the Akhisar district of Manisa, 11 people lost their lives and 27 were injured. The accident took place near the Akhisar Toll Booths on the Gebze-Orhangazi-Izmir Highway.
While the investigation into how the tragedy occurred continues, a new allegation regarding the incident has come to light. According to the claim relayed by eyewitnesses, the driver of the tour bus traveling on the highway missed the Akhisar junction at around 11:10.
ALLEGATION OF REVERSE MANEUVER
According to the report in Türkiye Gazetesi, the driver began to perform a reverse maneuver on the highway in order to return to the junction he had missed. It is alleged that at this moment, a truck traveling in the same direction collided with the bus.
Examinations initiated to determine the exact cause of the accident are ongoing. While teams continue their work at the scene, the claims of eyewitnesses are also being evaluated within the scope of the investigation.

On the other hand, it was stated that the driver of the passenger bus and the driver of the truck involved in the accident have been detained. It was learned that the investigation into the accident is continuing.
