He had spread terror in Germany: The man behind the Solingen massacre lived in Turkey
It has emerged that Issa al Hasan, who killed 3 people and injured 8 others at a festival in the German city of Solingen, lived in Turkey between 2016 and 2022.
On August 23, at the festival marking the 650th anniversary of the city of Solingen, Germany, 26-year-old Issa al Hasan caused great terror by stabbing 3 people to death and injuring 8 others.
According to reports in the German press, it has emerged that Issa lived in Turkey between 2016 and 2022.
According to a report by Der Spiegel, it was learned that 2 of Issa al Hasan's brothers were also in Turkey during the time he lived there. His family stated that Issa arrived in Germany illegally via Bulgaria at the end of 2022 and went missing after his asylum application was rejected. After a six-month search, Issa reappeared and carried out the attack in Solingen.
'ISSA WAS A CHEERFUL AND SOCIAL PERSON'
In an interview with Der Spiegel, Issa al Hasan's sister, Fatima, said that as a child, Issa was a cheerful person who loved to laugh and joke. Emphasizing her brother's past social personality, Fatima said, "Everyone who met him loved him." It was stated that Issa was sent to Turkey by his father after ISIS captured Deir ez-Zor during the civil war in Syria.

'HE MAY HAVE BEEN BRAINWASHED'
Issa's father, Chalaf, stated that he could not believe his son had carried out such an attack in Solingen, saying, "There is no way my son would do such a thing. Perhaps he was under the influence of something or someone. When he realizes what happened, he will say that he never wanted to do such a thing." Expressing that he felt great despair over what happened, Chalaf added, "May God have mercy on the dead and grant healing to the wounded."
While Issa al Hasan's migration from Turkey to Germany was explained by his family as a forced decision, the attack in Germany still holds many question marks. His family believes that Issa was not fully aware of what he was doing when he carried out this attack.
WHAT HAD HAPPENED?
In the city of Solingen, during a knife attack at the "Festival of Diversity" held on Friday, August 23, to mark the city's 650th anniversary, 2 men aged 67 and 56 and a 56-year-old woman lost their lives, and 8 people, 4 of them seriously, were injured.
The attacker, who stabbed people at random, fled the scene, and the country's security forces searched intensively for the assailant.
