In a message shared from his Presidential Candidate Office, İmamoğlu stated that Özer's release strengthened their morale and faith.

Wishing for Özer to return to his duties in Esenyurt as soon as possible, İmamoğlu emphasized his belief that he will carry out work that will contribute to Turkey, saying the following:

"The release of our dear Mayor Ahmet Özer, my esteemed professor and friend, during these stormy days has greatly boosted our morale and faith.

His stance, courage, determination, and the wisdom he displayed in Silivri were very valuable to all of us.

I wish for him to return to his post in Esenyurt as soon as possible. I am sure that he will have work that will offer great benefits to Turkey.
