Investigation launched into handcuff abuse of Tayfun Kahraman
A judicial and administrative investigation has been launched after Tayfun Kahraman, a Gezi Park trial prisoner taken for a routine health check due to his MS diagnosis, was subjected to abusive handcuffing.
It has emerged that Tayfun Kahraman, who was sentenced to 18 years in prison in the Gezi Park trial, was subjected to abusive handcuffing while being taken for a routine neurology check-up due to his MS diagnosis.
The incident was announced by Kahraman's wife, Meriç Demir, on her social media account.
Stating that the handcuffs placed on her husband were tightened excessively, Meriç Demir Kahraman asked, "Who gave this order?"
Following the scandalous practice, a new development has occurred.
According to a report by Gerçek Gündem, a judicial investigation has been launched into the incident by the Silivri Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, and an administrative investigation has been initiated by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
