Iraqi journalist who threw shoes at Bush says he will give a gift to anyone who does the same to Biden

Iraqi journalist Muntadhar al-Zaidi shared a post on the X social media platform regarding the matter.

An X user shared US President Joe Biden's message, "I came to Israel with a single message. You are not alone.", along with a photo of al-Zaidi throwing his shoes at Bush, asking the question, "Where is the shoe man? We need him more than ever."

THE RESPONSE WAS PROMPT

Al-Zaidi replied to this user, stating, "I will give a gift to the journalist who throws shoes at him (Biden)."

Born in the city of Nasiriyah in southern Iraq, al-Zaidi had previously shared information regarding the fate of the shoes he threw at Bush in 2008, saying, "The shoes I threw at Bush were immediately shredded by US soldiers in the room so they would not become a symbol later."

Al-Zaidi had said, "After I was released from prison, where I was subjected to various tortures after throwing the shoes at Bush, I had to go to Switzerland. I stayed there for 3 months, and during that time, I founded a non-governmental organization for the victims of the US occupation."

Explaining that he later returned to Iraq, al-Zaidi stated that he settled in Lebanon after the anti-government protests he participated in in February 2011, citing that his "life safety was in serious danger."

Al-Zaidi returned to his country permanently before the 2018 elections and became a parliamentary candidate, but he was not elected.
