Erdoğan's words reach their mark, swift response from Israel: 'I have given the order'

Israeli Foreign Minister Cohen reacted to Erdoğan's words in a post on the social media platform X/Twitter.

Cohen wrote, ''In light of the harsh statements coming from Turkey, I have ordered the return of diplomatic representatives from Turkey in order to conduct a reevaluation of the relations between Israel and Turkey.''

MUTUAL SIGNALS HAD BEEN SENT

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan expressed his view in a speech in recent days that Hamas is not a terrorist organization, which drew successive reactions from Israel.

Erdoğan also directed harsh criticism at Israel today at the Great Palestine Rally held in Istanbul. Stating, "Israel, you are an occupier, you are an organization," Erdoğan said that Israel would be declared a war criminal.

Cohen's statement came shortly after Erdoğan's speech. Last week, Israel had called on its citizens to leave Turkey due to terror threats and had also recalled its diplomats from the country.
