Israeli commander: "We are very concerned about Hezbollah opening a second front against Israel"
Israeli Major David Baruch stated that they are seriously concerned about Hezbollah opening a second front against Israel.
Speaking in the city of Kiryat Shmona, located a few kilometers from the Lebanese border, Major Baruch made assessments regarding the situation on the Lebanese border, where mutual clashes are taking place between Hezbollah and the Israeli army.
"We are very concerned about Hezbollah opening a second front against Israel," the Israeli commander said, arguing that they are "doing everything they can" to prevent this from happening.
"HEZBOLLAH IS TRYING TO DIVERT OUR ATTENTION FROM GAZA"
Stating that they do not want to fight with Hezbollah, Baruch said the following:
"Hezbollah is trying everything possible to divert our attention from the Gaza border in the south. I think that is the biggest thing Hezbollah is focused on right now. Until Iran tells them to declare war on us. We are working to ensure that does not happen."
"THE US SENT A MESSAGE TO MANY ACTORS"
When asked whether they view the warship the US sent to the region as a guarantee against Hezbollah, Baruch merely replied that with this move, the US "sent a message to many actors."
Major Baruch stated that they are ready to defend Israel on all fronts.
BORDER REGIONS ARE BEING EVACUATED
Stating that settlements within two kilometers of the Lebanese border have been completely evacuated, Baruch reported that most of the residents living in Kiryat Shmona have left the region voluntarily.
The Israeli commander said that those who did not have the opportunity to leave on their own would be evacuated by the army in stages.
