Netanyahu: "We warn Iran and Hezbollah, do not test our will"
In his speech at the opening ceremony of the new parliamentary session, Benjamin Netanyahu issued a warning to Iran and Lebanon's Hezbollah, stating that "the price will be very heavy."
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered the opening speech for the new parliamentary session wearing a black shirt, without a suit jacket or tie.
Regarding the surprise attack launched by the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, and other Palestinian groups from the blockaded Gaza Strip, Netanyahu said, "There are many questions that need to be answered, and we have begun to draw lessons."
Netanyahu stated that US President Joe Biden has warned Hezbollah, which has increased its military activities on Israel's northern border with Lebanon, and that they should be careful.
Emphasizing that they will not end the war without achieving victory and that their goal is to topple Hamas, Netanyahu addressed Iran and Lebanon's Hezbollah, saying, "We warn Iran and Hezbollah, do not test our will. The price will be much heavier."
PRESIDENT WARNS ISRAELI SOCIETY AGAINST "DIVISION"
Israeli President Isaac Herzog also drew attention to the polarization within Israel in his speech at the opening of the session, stating, "Our enemies look with appetite at every trace of division among us."
Noting that the necessary investigations regarding the attack from Gaza will be conducted and that lessons have begun to be drawn, Herzog said, "We must not emerge from this war the same way we entered it."
Main opposition leader and former Prime Minister Yair Lapid also said the following:
"We will destroy Hamas, we will bring back the Israeli hostages in Gaza. This will take a long time and requires great strength. If the world doesn't like it, so be it. It is our children who died, not theirs."
