Israeli government approves decision allowing closure of Al Jazeera

According to a report by Israel's state broadcaster KAN, the government has approved regulations that allow for the closure of television channels that "pose a threat to state security."

In line with the decision, it was stated that it is now possible to close Al Jazeera's offices in Israel and seize its equipment.

The report noted that Israeli officials argue that Al Jazeera's broadcasts endanger Israeli soldiers and citizens.

There has been no statement from Al Jazeera regarding the Israeli government's decision.

The Qatar-based Al Jazeera organization has been criticized by Israel for days due to the pro-Palestinian policy it has followed during the Israel-Hamas war. The organization is known for its commitment to accurate journalism and is recognized globally as a respected news center that reports on events in the region with a pluralistic and honest approach.

MOSSAD HAD ANNOUNCED

In recent days, it was reported that Israel's foreign intelligence agency, Mossad, supported the request to close the offices of the Qatar-based Al Jazeera media network in the country. The request by Israeli Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi in this direction is also supported by Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the grounds that "the channel is conducting propaganda against Israel."

The Qatar-based Al Jazeera media network stated in a declaration on October 13 that it held Israel responsible for the attack on journalists in southern Lebanon.

Al Jazeera emphasized that in the attack on the Lebanese border, which resulted in the death of 1 journalist and the injury of 5 others, including 2 of the channel's employees, Israel had targeted the institution and international media.
