Minister Fidan's 'tremendous effort' statement
Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan made statements to the press following his participation in a meeting held in Paris regarding the implementation of the US Peace Plan aimed at ending the war in Gaza.
Highlights from Minister Fidan's statements are as follows:
There is a possibility that Israel might attempt to impose the war again; the international community is currently on alert against this. Turkey will be part of the Gaza task force. Turkey has shown a tremendous effort and played a very constructive role.
A tremendous area of hope has emerged following the agreement. There are 4 goals in the first phase in Gaza. Turkey will monitor the ceasefire.
A team consisting of Egypt, Turkey, and Qatar will take part in terms of a facilitating role. They will discuss issues with both sides, the Palestinian and Israeli sides. They will perform their assigned duties in the implementation of the relevant articles of the agreement.
There is no pre-defined assignment immediately.
As the agreement is implemented, problems will arise. This team will step in when the time comes to find practical solutions to these problems.
