The so-called Derik brigade commander of the PKK/YPG, Muhammed Azo, was targeted by MIT last year but survived the operation wounded.

Upon determining that the terrorist Azo, who had been sent abroad by the PKK/YPG terrorist organization for treatment, had returned to Derik in northern Syria, action was taken.

MIT neutralized the terrorist Azo, the so-called Derik brigade commander of the PKK/YPG terrorist organization, in an operation in northern Syria.

WANTED AS THE PERPETRATOR OF THE ATTACK THAT WOUNDED 3 SOLDIERS

The terrorist Muhammed Azo was wanted for being the perpetrator of the attack on the Yakacık Outpost, affiliated with the 1st Border Battalion Command on the Şırnak/Cizre-Silopi road, on February 2, 2022, which resulted in the martyrdom of Private Tarık Tarcan, who was 20 days away from his discharge, and the wounding of 3 soldiers.

It had also been determined that while serving as a so-called brigade commander within the terrorist organization, Muhammed Azo served as the coordination officer for a joint exercise in which 250 PYD/YPG terrorists participated with the US in Derik, northern Syria, on September 7, 2022, and that he posed for friendly photos with US soldiers.
