The National Intelligence Organization (MIT), in an operation conducted with Pakistani intelligence, captured ISIS terrorist Özgür Altun, who was wanted in the orange category, on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border and brought him to Turkey.
The National Intelligence Organization (MIT) has carried out another significant operation abroad as part of its international counter-terrorism efforts. In a joint operation coordinated with the Pakistani Intelligence Service (ISI), Özgür Altun, one of the so-called leaders of the terrorist organization ISIS and a suspect wanted in the Orange Category, was captured.
CAPTURED ON THE PAKISTAN-AFGHANISTAN BORDER
According to the details of the operation, it was determined that Özgür Altun, who had been under intelligence surveillance for a long time, was located on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border line. Following this, Altun was captured alive without any conflict in a joint operation carried out by MIT and ISI teams.
BROUGHT TO TURKEY
After the successful completion of the operation, Özgür Altun was brought to Turkey under security measures. It is stated that Altun will be interrogated by security and intelligence units and that important information regarding his connections within the organization may be obtained.
WANTED IN THE ORANGE CATEGORY
Özgür Altun, who was on the "orange category" list of the Ministry of Interior's Wanted Terrorists List, was wanted on the grounds that he was involved in high-level activities within ISIS and was linked to various terrorist acts. It is assessed that Altun played an active role, particularly in organizational coordination abroad.
