Naci Görür responds to resignation claims: I have retired
Earthquake scientist Naci Görür announced in a statement on his social media account that rumors regarding his resignation are old, noting that he retired from ITU in 2014.
Prof. Dr. Naci Görür, stated in a post on his X account that the resignation rumors are old and that he retired from Istanbul Technical University(ITU) in 2014.
Görür further stated that many private universities had offered him various positions, but he expressed that he is no longer interested in working with universities in Turkey.
In his statement on X, Görür said the following:
"Dear friends, there is a statement of mine circulating regarding the academic world and universities in Turkey, and it is being said that I will resign from all earthquake-related work. This text is old. I retired from ITU in 2014. Many private universities offered me various positions, but I told them I am no longer interested in universities in our country. There is no resignation; I am already retired. You can imagine the state of the rest if this is the case for ITU, one of the best universities in Turkey. The text you are reading about me today is from 10 years ago. I love my country and you, and I will serve until I die. With love."
