A new incident has been added to the violence occurring in schools in Istanbul. At Esenyurt Sezai Karakoç Anatolian High School, a student attacked two classmates with a knife for reasons yet to be determined.
It was learned that the incident took place during the afternoon hours. Upon notification, numerous police and medical teams were dispatched to the school. The two injured students were taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance and placed under treatment.
It was reported that one of the injured students is in good condition, while the other student is in life-threatening condition. The student identified as the perpetrator of the attack has been taken into custody.
The Esenyurt District Governorship announced that an investigation into the incident has been launched. The investigation into the motive behind the attack and how it occurred within the school is ongoing.
Just one day earlier in Istanbul, a knife attack occurred at Başakşehir Şeyh Şamil Imam Hatip Middle School, where 10-year-old Eslem Sare Bulut lost her life and 7 students were injured.
