Operation against network targeting the family of Rojin Kabaiş

A simultaneous operation was conducted across 8 provinces, centered in Diyarbakır, targeting cyberbullies identified as having targeted the families of Rojin Kabaiş, Hiranur Nilgün Aygar, and Kıvanç Uman, whose deaths caused deep public sorrow.

In the investigation carried out by the Diyarbakır Provincial Police Department's Cybercrime Division, a structure organized under the code names "C47" and "C99" on Telegram and similar digital platforms was identified. It was determined that these groups created closed channels for the purposes of cyberbullying, blackmail, and harassment using illegal query panels.

Investigations revealed that the suspects reached out to the families of the deceased Kabaiş, Aygar, and Uman via foreign phone numbers and illegal panel links, engaging in acts involving threats and blackmail.

Polis ekiplerinin gözaltına alınan şüphelileri adliye binasına götürdüğü anlar.

Within the scope of the operation, 10 suspects were apprehended and detained. Of the suspects referred to judicial authorities, 2 were arrested, while judicial control measures were imposed on 5 individuals.

Legal proceedings were initiated against the suspects for the crimes of "threat" (Article 106 of the Turkish Penal Code), "unlawful acquisition of personal data" (Article 136 of the Turkish Penal Code), and "theft of documents related to state security through deception" (Article 326/1 of the Turkish Penal Code).

Police units stated that the fight against illegal networks targeting citizens through anonymous digital structures will continue with determination.
