The opening ceremony of the new term of the Israeli Parliament was interrupted due to rocket attacks launched from Gaza.

Israel's air defense system, the Iron Dome, was activated, and sounds of explosions were heard.

The Israeli press reported that the general assembly was evacuated following the sirens, and people were directed to a shelter.

No information was shared regarding where the rockets landed. Israeli President Isaac Herzog and Prime Minister Netanyahu had each delivered speeches at the parliament's opening ceremony.

THEY HAD MADE WAR STATEMENTS

Noting that necessary investigations would be conducted regarding the attack launched from Gaza and that lessons were beginning to be learned, Herzog had said, "We must not emerge from this war the same way we entered it."

Main opposition leader and former Prime Minister Yair Lapid had also stated the following:

"We will destroy Hamas, we will bring back the Israeli hostages in Gaza. This will take a long time and requires great strength. If the world doesn't like it, so be it. It is our children who died, not theirs."
