Parliament begins the new week with a busy schedule: What is on the agenda?

Parliament begins the new week with a busy schedule: What is on the agenda?

The Grand National Assembly of Turkey, which will make a fast start to the new week, is beginning a period of intense work where important regulations will be addressed. The 9th Judicial Package will be discussed in the General Assembly, while comprehensive negotiations on the 2025 budget will be held in the Planning and Budget Committee.

9TH JUDICIAL PACKAGE IN THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY

The first agenda item of the week will be the 9th Judicial Package. The regulation introduces new sanctions for insult offenses. Accordingly, the crime of insult committed through audio, written, or visual communication will be removed from the scope of conciliation and included in the scope of advance payment. Additionally, the complaint period for such insult offenses will be limited to 2 years.

BUDGET MARATHON BEGINS

The Parliamentary Planning and Budget Committee will begin general discussions for the 2025 budget on Wednesday, October 30. On October 31, the budget of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey itself will be addressed. During the discussions, Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş will make his presentation regarding the TBMM budget.

GROUP MEETINGS AND ERDOĞAN'S SPEECH

On the same day, political parties with groups in Parliament will also hold their weekly group meetings. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is expected to address party members at the AKP group meeting on Wednesday, October 30.
