'Peace' table in Ankara for the Sarallar and Şahinler

It has been alleged that a meeting will be held in Ankara to end the long-standing feud between the groups known as the Sarallar and the Şahinler.

Journalist Nevzat Çiçek claimed in a post on his social media account that the two sides would be brought together in Ankara on September 26. In his account, which he based on sources he spoke with, Çiçek stated that a "peace meeting" with dinner is planned to be held under the leadership of MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli.

According to the post, the meeting is expected to take place in the afternoon, after which the parties are expected to give a "peace" message to the public. Çiçek conveyed that his sources said both sides are ready to meet and make peace.

THE MEETING IN SÜRMENE ALSO CAME TO THE AGENDA

It was also reported that prior to the alleged meeting, the Saral family held a large-scale dinner gathering in the Sürmene district of Trabzon. It was stated that in addition to Presidential Chief Advisor Oktay Saral, Of Mayor Salim Salih Sarıalioğlu also attended the event, which was reportedly attended by approximately 4,000 people.

In a post he made after the event, Oktay Saral stated, "We discussed walking into the future together with the strength we draw from the past, further strengthening our brotherhood, and standing by national peace, regional tranquility, and unity and solidarity with an understanding worthy of the Century of Turkey."

Saral also recalled the second opening process called "Terror-Free Turkey," stating that one should act with an understanding that unites rather than divides, and that grows brotherhood rather than causing conflict.

The names Sarallar and Şahinler have been on the agenda in past years with organized crime investigations and lawsuits. Lawsuits were filed against some defendants associated with the Sarallar structure on charges such as establishing and managing a criminal organization, membership in an organization, armed threat, extortion, and attempted intentional homicide; conviction decisions were rendered in some files.
