The footage quickly became a trending topic on social media. Cem Küçük, a columnist for the Türkiye newspaper known for his proximity to the government, implied on his X account that the lieutenants were 'coup plotters.'

"'We are the soldiers of Mustafa Kemal' is language used by the opposition. It is unacceptable," said Küçük, adding, "The process leading to the 1960 coup began in 1954 when two captains ate eggs with sausage. The Democrat Party underestimated these developments and paid a heavy price. The AK Party must immediately conduct the necessary investigation."

SHARP RESPONSE FROM ÖZDAĞ TO CEM KÜÇÜK

Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ also gave a sharp response to Küçük. Recalling the Ergenekon and Balyoz conspiracy cases that occurred during the AKP government, Özdağ said, "The hostility you showed and the hatred you spewed toward Atatürk's officers were not enough; now you are attacking 21-year-old lieutenants whose only crime is loving Atatürk."

Stating that "Anyone who is not a soldier of Mustafa Kemal is a soldier of the Greek army or the Crusader army," Özdağ's post is as follows:

After the coup, the SADAT oppression and purges began. It has continued to this day. FETÖ left, METÖ arrived. Despite all your efforts to erase and belittle Atatürk, Atatürk emerges from within the Turkish youth. Cem Küçük, 'We are the soldiers of Mustafa Kemal' is not an opposition slogan; it is the statement of every honorable Turkish citizen. Anyone who is not a soldier of Mustafa Kemal is a soldier of the Greek army or the Crusader army. The hostility you showed and the hatred you spewed toward Atatürk's officers in Ergenekon-Balyoz were not enough; now you are attacking 21-year-old lieutenants whose only crime is loving Atatürk.
