Public transport fare hike coming in Istanbul... How much will a single ride cost?
The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) is preparing to change public transport fares, which were last increased by 18 percent in January.
It has been claimed that the İBB, which last implemented a transport fare hike in January, will increase transport prices again.
According to a report in Gazete Duvar, the agenda for the UKOME meeting to be held tomorrow at the 1453 Çırpıcı Social Facilities in Zeytinburnu has been clarified, and it has been learned that a proposal regarding the regulation of public transport fares will also be discussed at the meeting.
ISTANBULKART WILL BE 20 LIRA
If the 13 percent fare hike proposal to be submitted to the agenda is accepted, the Istanbulkart usage fee, which is currently 17.70 TL for subways and buses, will rise to 20 lira.
