Due to construction work on the D-100 highway, which connects Istanbul to the Black Sea, traffic was reduced to a single lane, resulting in long vehicle queues in the area.
Road construction work initiated at the Kemikli Ramps section of the D-100 highway, which connects Istanbul to the Black Sea and serves as a transit route for 21 provinces, has disrupted transportation.
As part of the work, the Istanbul-bound side of the divided highway was closed to traffic. Transportation began to be provided in both directions and in a controlled manner from the other lane.
The fact that traffic was reduced to a single lane in the direction of Istanbul caused congestion in the region, especially as heavy-duty vehicles also use the route. While kilometers-long vehicle queues formed on the road, drivers had difficulty moving forward.
In the area where traffic flow came to a standstill from time to time, drivers were asked to obey traffic signs and signals, maintain a safe following distance, and drive carefully.
