The fraud case in which former Denizbank branch manager Seçil Erzan is accused of collecting money from many people in the sports and business worlds under the name of the 'Fatih Terim Fund' with the promise of high returns continues to remain on the agenda.

Seçil Erzan appeared before the judge for the fourth time in the case heard at the Istanbul 41st High Criminal Court.

In the case that has captured Turkey's attention, Denizbank executives were heard for the first time.

'SHE MENTIONED A FUND AT THE CENTRAL BANK'

According to the report in Gazete Duvar; Erzan did not present her defense today because some of the indictments prepared against her had not been served to her.

A cardiology specialist doctor, who is a complainant in the case, said the following about Seçil Erzan in court:

"She called me after I moved to Berlin. She mentioned a fund involving private individuals and wanted to include me. I accepted because we had a long-standing relationship of trust. I gave 125 thousand dollars. I gave the money to Nazlıcan. She told me that giving it to her directly would cause legal problems."

When the judge asked why he sent the money to someone else and whether names were given, the doctor stated, "She said she was managing it herself. From time to time, she mentioned a fund related to the Central Bank. I told her she could use the money with Nazlıcan. I never received any repayment."

'FATIH TERIM CALLED SEÇIL ERZAN HIS DAUGHTER'

In the hearing, Denizbank Europe 1st Regional Manager Sermin Tekin spoke first.

Regarding the day Fatih Terim, Arda Turan, and Emre Belözoğlu went to the headquarters to meet with the Denizbank management, Sermin Tekin said:

“Arda Turan said that he had given various amounts of money to Seçil Erzan and had received some back, but could not get the rest. Emre also gave his money to Seçil through his cousin Volkan Bahçekapılı. In this meeting, the footballers said that before they gave the money to Seçil, they asked Fatih Terim, and he said, 'Seçil is like my daughter.' Terim also said, 'Even if I am no longer their coach, they listen to me.'"

'WE DID NOT TELL HER TO SMASH HER PHONE'

Tekin described her testimony in court as follows:

"Seçil was calling me, saying she was very scared and upset. She said she wanted to tell me everything. I accepted the meeting. We met at a house in Çorlu. Seçil went outside the door; she was about to faint. When I entered the house, there were her mother, her caregiver, and ladies named Nilgün and Sermin. We sat with Seçil on the balcony. She told me she was being threatened and that her neighbors' relatives were being harassed by loan sharks. Meanwhile, she kept talking about wanting to commit suicide. I stayed there for about 3 hours. She said she had no intention of stealing the money but that she could not pay it back. I told her that death was not a solution. I stated that she needed to tell everything. I did not do anything without Seçil's consent. (In response to the question of whether you recorded the audio) We went to her house in Göktürk together. I did not go up to the house. I stayed in a patisserie for a while. When Seçil did not come for a long time, I went up to her house. I used the restroom. Seçil could not find what she wanted to find in the house. Ms. Nilgün came, and she found it. She found the diary inside a bedsheet. Then, together with Seçil, we went to the headquarters. On April 9, Seçil signed her statement. Seçil was in a bad state both physically and mentally. She could not clear her head. Then she returned to her house in Çorlu. On April 10, Seçil came to the bank at a later hour. They came with Sermin Eligül and Hüseyin Eligül. She had the list of who she gave money to and who she received money from written down on a computer. We did not tell Seçil to smash her phone at the bank. Seçil had already come without a phone. I do not accept these claims."
