The US Department of Defense announced on Thursday night that a Turkish UCAV was shot down by a US F-16 near Hasakah in northwestern Syria.

In a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the US was not mentioned, and it was stated: "The incident in question has in no way affected the execution of the ongoing operation against the PKK/YPG and the striking of identified targets."
