The murder of taxi driver Oğuz Erge in İzmir, who was shot and killed by Delil Aysal, whom he had picked up in his vehicle, had sparked public outrage.
Most recently, the İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office filed a lawsuit against Aysal for "qualified intentional homicide," "qualified robbery," and "carrying an unlicensed firearm," while requesting an aggravated life sentence.
