Sirens sounded: Rockets fired into northern Israel

Dozens of rockets were fired from southern Lebanon toward Israel.

Israeli air defense systems were seen intercepting the incoming rockets. Interceptor missiles left trails of light in the sky, and sparks scattered as a result of the explosions.

The Israeli military fired illumination flares into the border region at least twice during the night.

According to a written statement from the Israeli military, the vast majority of the dozens of rockets fired from southern Lebanon were intercepted.

HEZBOLLAH'S STATEMENT REGARDING THE ATTACK

In a statement regarding the attack, Hezbollah stated that the illegal settlement of Beit Hillel in northern Israel was targeted with dozens of Katyusha rockets.

Hezbollah noted that the attack was carried out in retaliation for Israel's strikes yesterday on two towns in southern Lebanon.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Israel, which has been continuing its attacks on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, is also clashing with Lebanon's Hezbollah on its northern border.

High military tension along the border line between Israel and Lebanon, known as the "Blue Line," has reached record levels.

Following the Tel Aviv administration's killing of senior Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr in an airstrike on Beirut and the assassination of the Hamas Political Bureau Chief in Tehran, Israel had stated that it was "expecting a strong response" from Lebanon's Hezbollah and Iran.
