Sırrı Süreyya Önder: 'We will convey the messages from our KRG contacts to Öcalan'

The contacts of the DEM Party Imralı delegation in the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) concluded yesterday.

DEM Party MP Sırrı Süreyya Önder, who was part of the delegation, made assessments regarding the meetings.

Speaking to the Mezopotamya Agency, Önder said that the meetings were held in a positive atmosphere.

Sırrı Süreyya Önder stated, "We were met with great enthusiasm and a warm reception from all the political figures, institutions, and parties we met with. First of all, I would like to thank them for this. We also received their suggestions, warnings, and support regarding the process. These were very valuable for us and for peace. We will convey this to Mr. Öcalan and our interlocutors."

Touching upon the topics discussed during the meetings, Önder said, "We mainly conveyed the assessments made by Mr. Öcalan. We relayed the questions he asked. We tried to formulate answers to them. Along with this, the issue of national unity was also among the topics discussed. We tried to create the broadest possible social foundation for peace."

Noting that full support was given to the new process, Önder said, "They placed great value on it. All the interlocutors we met with placed great value on the messages and the call to be made. Frankly, this both honored and gave us hope," he said.

Stating that the party leaders they met with also had messages for Abdullah Öcalan, Önder said, "Of course, they conveyed their support. There are other details as well. We will convey these during our visit to Mr. Öcalan," he said.
