Former Interior Minister and AKP Istanbul MP Süleyman Soylu has issued a statement regarding the remarks of MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, who expressed support for him following allegations of ties to organized crime leader Ayhan Bora Kaplan.

In a statement on his social media account, Soylu said, "I offer my respects to my elder, Nationalist Movement Party Chairman Dr. Devlet Bahçeli, who has once again allowed us to experience the honor and dignity of serving our country, our state, and our nation today. May God keep him with us... May God be pleased with him."
