Statement from Minister Yerlikaya regarding Serhat Akın

Making statements on his social media account regarding the development of the process, Yerlikaya provided the following information in his latest update:

"All suspects involved in the shooting of former football player and football commentator Serhat Akın have been apprehended.

As a result of the coordinated efforts by our Istanbul Police Department's Public Security Branch and Intelligence Branch teams, those involved in the incident;

O. D. (The one who used the weapon),

O.M. (The one who drove the motorcycle),

E. Ü. (The one who acted with the suspects and drove the car),

M.A. (The one who acted with the suspects),

İ.T. (The one who acted with the suspects after the incident) have been apprehended.

The unlicensed pistol used by the suspect in the incident was seized.

I wish a speedy recovery to former football player and commentator Serhat Akın, who was injured in the incident.

We will not forgive those who act like urban bandits, those who attempt to take the lives of innocent people, and those who disturb the peace of our people! We are determined to catch them one by one and deliver them to justice.

I congratulate our heroic police officers who carried out the operation. May God protect them. Our nation's prayers are with you..."
