Stray dogs poisoned to death in Silivri: Prosecutor's office takes action

Following the dog massacres in Niğde and the Altındağ district of Ankara, stray dogs have been poisoned to death in the Silivri district of Istanbul. While pieces of poisoned meat were found during investigations in the area, the prosecutor's office has requested that fingerprints be collected regarding the incident.

While the law prepared by the AKP regarding the implementation of euthanasia (killing) for stray animals went into effect last week, reports continue to emerge that dogs have begun to be killed in some regions.

Following the dog massacres that came to light in the AKP-run Niğde Municipality and the AKP-run Altındağ Municipality, it was determined that dogs were poisoned in the Silivri district of Istanbul.

According to the report in Sözcü, a mother dog and her 2 puppies were found dead in Silivri. It is believed that 6 other puppies that could not be found may have been killed in a similar manner.

KILLED WITH POISONED MEAT

3 dogs were killed by being given poisoned meat. Residues of poisoned meat were found in a bag in the area where the 3 dogs were poisoned.

PROSECUTOR REQUESTED FINGERPRINT COLLECTION

The prosecutor's office, which conducted an investigation at the scene, requested that fingerprints be collected.

Erman Paçalı, President of the Turkish Animal Protection Foundation, filed a complaint.
