An investigation has been launched into the deaths of an elderly couple staying at a guesthouse in the Karahayıt neighborhood of Denizli's Pamukkale district. Yaşariye Ünver (79) and her husband Tahsin Ünver (80) were found unresponsive in the bathroom during a check after they had not been seen leaving their room for two days.

Upon notification, health and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the address. Health teams confirmed that the Ünver couple had passed away.
It was learned that Yaşariye and Tahsin Ünver, who had reportedly returned to Turkey permanently some time ago, had checked into the local guesthouse two days prior. When the couple did not leave their room for a long time, the guesthouse operators decided to check on them.

EXACT CAUSE TO BE DETERMINED BY AUTOPSY
Following the work of the crime scene investigation teams and the public prosecutor, the couple's bodies were taken to the morgue of the Forensic Medicine Institute's Denizli Group Presidency for an autopsy.

Initial examinations indicated no signs of assault or injury on the bodies of Yaşariye and Tahsin Ünver. While the possibility that the couple may have been poisoned by sulfur gas is being considered, the exact cause of death will be clarified by the autopsy to be performed.
It was reported that after the autopsy procedures, the elderly couple's bodies will be laid to rest with a ceremony to be held in their hometown of Sivaslı, Uşak.
