Tansel Çölaşan questions Ministry over unpaid wages of Doruk Madencilik workers

Tansel Çölaşan, retired Chief Prosecutor of the Council of State and former president of the Atatürkist Thought Association, raised the ongoing debate regarding the unpaid wages and severance payments of Doruk Madencilik workers in a post on her social media account.

Recalling reports in the press, Çölaşan pointed to allegations that Yıldızlar Holding took over Doruk Madencilik and Eti Gümüş with the "guarantee" of the then-Vice President Fuat Oktay.

In her post, Çölaşan argued that the wages and severance payments owed to the workers have still not been paid, stating that the claim that the company owes money to its workers is "indisputable."

Questioning whether the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources has imposed any sanctions during this process, Çölaşan asked, "Is the company truly untouchable? Who is holding the hand of the Ministry of Energy against the company?"

The process regarding the receivables of Doruk Madencilik workers had previously been reflected in the public eye through various protests. Çölaşan's post has brought the workers' unpaid rights and the allegations surrounding the company's transfer process back to the agenda.
