TFF issues statement on Arda Güler and Montella 'vest' footage
Turkish Football Federation (TFF) Vice President Mustafa Eröğüt made statements regarding the Vincenzo Montella-Arda Güler video that went viral on social media.
Stating that they spoke with Montella, Mustafa Eröğüt said, "We had a dinner program after the training session. During that dinner, we noticed some activity on social media.
When you look at the initial footage, you might misunderstand it, but when you look at the essence of it, everything is absolutely under control. We spoke with Montella, saying, 'Coach, there is such footage,' and the coach told us, 'I spoke with Arda, and I also showed it to him on paper,'" he said.

Addressing the footage from the training session involving Arda Güler and Vincenzo Montella that sparked debate, Eröğüt stated, "When you look at the initial footage, you might misunderstand it, but when you look at the essence of it, everything is absolutely under control."

"THE FOOTAGE CAUSED DISCOMFORT"
Stating that Hamit Altıntop went to speak with Arda Güler, Mustafa Eröğüt continued with these words:
"This footage caused some discomfort. Hamit Altıntop went to talk to Arda Güler and asked, 'Is there any problem?' Arda replied, 'Of course not. We spoke in this manner. Then, when the coach warned me, I continued with the training.'"
"ALL PLANS WERE PREPARED ACCORDINGLY"
Stating that their plans were as such, Mustafa Eröğüt said, "There is no problem within the team. The plan that Vincenzo Montella had in mind from the very beginning was for Arda to be one hundred percent ready for the Czechia match. All plans were prepared accordingly.
Montella wanted to protect Arda both physically and mentally," he said, and concluded his remarks with the following words:
"From the very beginning, we set 3 goals with Montella. The short-term one is to participate in EURO 2024. We discussed that once we go there, we must advance from the group stage. Our second goal is to be promoted to League A in the Nations League, which will start in September, because that is where we belong. Our 3rd and final goal is to participate in the 2026 World Cup."
