The reason for the arrest of Halk TV Editor-in-Chief Suat Toktaş has been revealed!

The expert witness S.B., who was exposed by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu during a press conference titled "The Big Radish" regarding the investigations and lawsuits filed against him, has resulted in an operation against journalists.

Following the publication of an interview by Barış Pehlivan, who reached out to the expert witness S.B., an 'expert witness investigation' was launched into Halk TV.

Barış Pehlivan, Seda Selek, Kürşad Oğuz, and Serhan Asker, who were detained as part of the investigation, were released under judicial control conditions and a travel ban. Halk TV Editor-in-Chief Suat Toktaş, however, was arrested and sent to Marmara Prison in Silivri.

Following the court's announcement of its decision during the night, journalist Suat Toktaş, who was being held in custody, was arrested and sent to prison.

The reason for Toktaş's arrest has been revealed. In the decision of the 5th Criminal Judgeship of Peace, it was noted that "it is understood that he attempted to influence the expert witness, who holds the status of 'complainant,' by creating public pressure."

It was learned that the grounds for the arrest of Suat Toktaş, who clearly assumed responsibility as both a journalist and an executive in his statements and testimony regarding the matter, included 'the suspicion of flight, hiding, or the risk of fleeing, as well as the suspicion of destroying, concealing, or altering evidence, and attempting to exert pressure on witnesses, victims, or others.'
