The water they entered to cool off became their end
Two brothers among four children who were in danger of drowning in a pond in the Örenli neighborhood of Gaziantep's Yavuzeli district have lost their lives.
In Gaziantep, during days when summer heat is intense, brothers Murat Telli (13) and Muhammet Mahmut Telli (15), who were among four children who entered a pond in the rural area of Yavuzeli district to cool off, began to struggle in the water shortly after entering. Their two friends who were with them noticed the incident and immediately asked for help from the neighborhood residents.
The neighborhood residents rushed to help and pulled the two brothers from the water. The children, who were pulled from the water unconscious, were handed over to 112 Emergency Health teams that arrived at the scene shortly after the notification. Following the initial interventions by health personnel, Murat Telli was transferred to Yavuzeli State Hospital, and his older brother Muhammet Mahmut Telli was transferred to the Şehitkamil State Hospital OSB Annex Building.
Despite intensive interventions at the hospitals, both brothers could not be saved. The bodies of the children who lost their lives were sent to the Gaziantep Forensic Medicine Institute morgue following examinations.
