They washed sausages at a gas station in Bursa: Their penalty has been determined

It has been learned that the individuals who were filmed washing unlabeled sausages from a van with a high-pressure hose at a gas station in Bursa will be fined nearly 150 thousand liras.

While the 70 kilograms of sausages seized by the gendarmerie teams were destroyed by the Food and Feed Branch of the Bursa Provincial Directorate of Agriculture, no negative findings were detected in the samples taken from the production facilities in Afyonkarahisar.

On January 6, 2024, in Bursa, it drew attention when 2 people were seen washing sausages inside a panel van with a high-pressure water gun at a gas station on the Istanbul Road in the Kurtul neighborhood of Gemlik district. After the footage recorded by citizens was shared on social media, the Bursa Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and gendarmerie teams took action. Through the security camera footage of the gas station seen in the video, the owner of the van with license plate 16 AEV 265, where the sausages were being washed, was identified as I.Y. (48). After I.Y. stated that the vehicle was being used by her husband Hüseyin Y. (55) and Fatih M. (35), the gendarmerie teams apprehended the 2 suspects in a short time.

The 2 individuals, who were determined to have been washing sausages in a way that endangers human health, along with the panel van containing the sausages, were taken to the gendarmerie station. The 70 kilograms of seized sausages were destroyed by the Food and Feed Branch of the Bursa Provincial Directorate of Agriculture.

The Bursa Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry informed the Afyonkarahisar Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry to inspect the facilities in Afyonkarahisar where the sausages were produced. While Hüseyin Y. and Fatih M., who washed the sausages, and the vehicle owner I.Y. were released after giving their statements to the gendarmerie, no negative findings were detected in the samples taken from the facilities in Afyonkarahisar. However, it has been learned that the suspects will be fined a total of nearly 150 thousand liras for selling 'unlabeled sausages'.
