The indictment prepared against Ahmet Sonuç, who was detained and arrested for making remarks in his social media broadcasts that were deemed contrary to the general morality and common values of society, and who was later released pending trial following an appeal, has been accepted by the Antalya 8th Criminal Court of First Instance.

The indictment stated that during a "virtual patrol" conducted by teams from the Antalya Police Department's Cyber Crimes Branch, it was determined that Ahmet Sonuç, known by the handle "Jahrein," had been conducting live broadcasts on the social media platform Twitch that were accessible to any user.

6 MONTHS TO 3 YEARS IN PRISON REQUESTED

The indictment, which states that it is understood the defendant committed the alleged crime by broadcasting content containing obscene remarks contrary to moral values in societal, kinship, family, and child relationships, requests that Sonuç be tried for the crime of "obscenity via the press," facing a prison sentence of 6 months to 3 years and a judicial fine of up to 5 thousand days.
