US artist Beyonce announces support for US presidential candidate Harris
US singer Beyonce has announced her support for US Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris in the presidential election to be held on November 5.
According to a report by The Hill, US musician Beyonce and singer-songwriter Kelly Rowland attended the campaign rally held for Harris in Houston, Texas.
Speaking at the rally, Beyonce gave the public a message to "vote," stating, "It is time to sing a new song - a song that began 248 years ago."
"I AM READY"
Beyonce said, "Our voices form a choir of unity. It is singing a song of dignity and opportunity. Are you all ready to add your voice to the new American song? Because I am ready."
The singer noted that she was not there as a celebrity or a politician, but as a mother who wants her children to have the same "freedoms" that she and her mother had.
Rowland, for her part, said, "We are charting a new path with Kamala Harris and Tim Walz," calling for the writing of a new "American story" based on community, equality, power, kindness, and hope.
