26 thousand lira found on the ground by children in Bilecik returned to its owner
The money in a bag found by two children in Bilecik was delivered to its owner through the municipal police.
Atatürk Boulevard Tepebaşı location, foreign national children İbrahim and İsmail El Kasım noticed a bag on the ground containing money while walking. Their father, Muhammed El Kasım, went with his children to the municipal police teams and handed over the bag containing 26 thousand lira.
Following an announcement by the municipal police, Ali Osman Yılmaz applied, stating that he had dropped the money while walking. The teams, who verified the incident through security camera footage from the surrounding area, brought the children and Yılmaz together.
Yılmaz, who received his money, thanked the children and the municipal police teams.
CHILDREN THANKED AND GIVEN TOYS
Municipal Police Manager Mücahit Öndersev told reporters that they conducted an investigation after the money was delivered to the patrolling teams by the father. Stating that they informed local shopkeepers that a sum of money had been found and that the person who lost it could collect it from the municipal police directorate, Öndersev said, "When the money he lost matched the amount we counted, we examined the security camera footage at the scene to confirm. We determined that he had indeed dropped his money in the bag while walking, just as he described."
Öndersev added that they gifted toys to the children for their exemplary behavior.
