Individual who hurled profanities at a young child caught: Released after judicial proceedings

A dispute occurred between two drivers in traffic in Ataşehir, Istanbul. The aggressor, angered by the other driver, cut off the other vehicle.

While the driver recording from inside his vehicle warned, "I will share the footage on Twitter, I will go to the police and file a complaint" and "There is a child in the car," the aggressor also cursed at the young child.

Following the spread of the footage on social media, the aggressor was taken into custody.

FIRST CAUGHT, THEN RELEASED AFTER JUDICIAL PROCEEDINGS

The following statement was made by the Police Department:

"An investigation has been launched by the Istanbul Police Department regarding the traffic dispute footage that took place on Kayışdağı Street in the İçerenköy neighborhood of Ataşehir district on 21.01.2024 at approximately 18:15, and which was shared on some social media accounts.

Investigations revealed that the driver of a vehicle named M.S. cut off another driver while driving on the street, and that individuals named U.Y. and E.Y. got out of the vehicle and made threats and insults toward M.S., after which the individuals left the scene.

In the efforts to apprehend the suspects, the suspects were caught in the Küçükbakkalköy neighborhood on 25.01.2024 at approximately 00:45.

Judicial proceedings were initiated against the caught suspects for the crimes of threat and insult, and they were released by judicial authorities to have their files sent upon completion."
