Yılmaz and Fidan to attend Iranian President Raisi's funeral
Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz and Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan will attend the funeral ceremony for Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, which will be held in Iran tomorrow.
According to information received, Cevdet Yılmaz and Hakan Fidan will travel to Iran tomorrow to attend the funeral ceremony to be held for Iranian President Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and other officials.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Iranian President Raisi attended a dam inauguration ceremony on the Iran-Azerbaijan border on May 19, 2024. On his return, the helicopter carrying Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and other officials was involved in a crash.
Upon Iran's request, Turkey deployed an Akıncı unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) for search and rescue operations. The coordinates of the helicopter wreckage identified by the Akıncı UAV were shared with Iranian authorities.
Iranian teams that reached the identified location determined that there were no survivors from the crash.
